We love The Orleans and every time we plan to go to Vegas we trawl through all the hotels, checking the rates and they just don't compare to The Orleans. If we went back to LV and stayed off the Strip, we'd just pick a cheaper hotel like Holiday Inn Express (which we tend to have good luck with for less cost). 3) Lobby/check-in is practically in the casino, a bit smokey, and just not the normal 'welcome' feel that you get at any other hotel that doesn't have a similiar set-up. 2) Bathroom has pocket door that makes noise- noticed every time one of us got up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Probably looked great 15 years ago, but its age is showing. 4) Lots of food options in the hotel if we had been hungry.
3) Easy access to interstate 15 when we left LV for Utah. Easy to get back to strip if we had wanted to. 2) Easy to get to and park (for free) via our rental car.
Pros: 1) For a hotel with a casino, our hotel room on the 12th floor was quiet and very much non-smoking.
We didn't want to pay the hotel prices on The Strip but wanted to be close enough to it. We were in LV to check it out and not to gamble.
